UBT’s Integrated Strategy 2027 places social responsibility, research, innovation, and sustainability at the center of its mission, fulfilling the university’s Third Mission. UBT’s engagement efforts are structured across nine key dimensions, including advancing research infrastructure, knowledge transfer, free community services, inclusive scholarship programs, open academia, crisis support, advocacy for vulnerable groups, sustainability initiatives, and promoting global resilience.
UBT has established major research centers and hubs, such as the 5G Hub, Knowledge Center, RIED Institute, and SDG Monitoring Centre, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and direct societal impact. Initiatives like free healthcare services, sports facilities, psychological counseling, and art spaces strengthen community health, culture, and engagement.
Financially, UBT’s commitment is reflected in a major growth in its total expenditures, from €8.4 million in 2019 to a projected €18.7 million in 2026. Scholarship funding has more than tripled, reaching €800,000 annually by 2026, supporting inclusion and access for marginalized groups, including Ukrainian students. Research funding grows from €322,425 to €1.9 million, supporting SDG-aligned projects, crisis response, and policy development.
Capital investments focus on building a green, smart campus, while “Other Expenditures” support civic initiatives, health campaigns, media engagement through UBTNews, and crisis interventions. Internal structures like the International Office, Industry Cooperation Office, Career Center, INSPIRE Social Innovation Centre, and Pro-Academia ensure sustainable engagement pathways for students, staff, and external partners.
Through strategic leadership, sustainable financial planning, and a deeply embedded culture of social responsibility, UBT ensures that its engagement initiatives are viable, scalable, and impactful over the long term, contributing to local, national, and global development goals.
